Race Notes: On August 16th, 2006 the Binghamton Crew family lost a friend. John McKenna IV attended Binghamton University (1994 – 1998) and was a valued rower and teammate. John showed dedication not only to his team, but to his nation through service as a United States Marine. It was during his third tour serving in Iraq that this nation lost a great man with an indelible spirit.

We invite you to Binghamton Crew’s Annual John McKenna Memorial 5K run. The event will be held on March 20th in Binghamton's West Side at Beethoven Park. Proceeds will benefit Binghamton Crew in our effort to purchase a boat in his name and the John McKenna Memorial Fund which supports the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund and the NYS Trooper Scholarship Fund
